Ken Peters, Senior Pastor (beginning May 1, 2010)

Ken and his wife Yvonne are anticipating their resettlement into Saanich/Victoria from Vancouver where Ken has been lead pastor of the Killarney Park MB Church since 1995.  They have three adult children: Aaron, Laura and Rachel.  Ken has enjoyed serving and providing leadership on provincial and national denominational boards in matters of faith and life. His ministry in Vancouver has been earmarked by positioning the church to become intentionally intercultural in their identity, purpose and mission.

Ken and Yvonne enjoy hosting people in their home.  Ken's other interests include canning preserves, cooking, gardening and cycling.Prior to ministry in Vancouver, Ken was associate pastor of the Memorial United Methodist Church in Clovis, CA and before that, Coaldale MB Church in Coaldale, Alberta. Ken has a Diploma in Agriculture Mgt. from BCIT, Burnaby; a B.R.S. from MBBC (now CMU); B.A. in Religious Studies from the University of Winnipeg; a Masters of Divinity from MB Biblical Seminary in Fresno, CA and a Doctor of Ministry from Carey Theological College, Vancouver.

Kathleen Busch, Associate Pastor

Kathleen’s main roles at SCC include pastoral care, oversight of youth groups and adult small groups as well as occasional preaching and teaching. Her desire is to see people slow down enough to hear God’s voice in a noisy world. Having spent about 20 years travelling the world, in 2005 Kathleen returned to Vancouver Island to be rooted here, and be involved and grow within a community of God’s people. She grew up in Nanaimo where she became a Christian as a teenager. Since then she has been involved in various roles - working as a youth pastor, a Bible college professor and as residence director at a christian university. She has a BA in Psychology, a Master’s in Christian Studies (Regent College) and is working towards a Doctor of Ministry. As of Sept. '09, Kathleen is also happy to note that she has finalized the adoption of her 9 year old foster daughter, Hannah. Contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
